Just found out from my partner in crime that I really don’t have to go through all the tasks since I am helping to create them. This is my first year as a contributor so I don’t have the protocol down yet. Still, I will do my best to keep up with the tasks knowing I will benefit greatly from the review, but I now have a good excuse for really short answers.

I barely got an A on the quiz. I hurried through the last question and said people were allowed an extra bag of stuff! I learned the minutes from board meetings can hold some interesting tidbits of information. Sadly, I am not entering the drawing. Reading all the blogs is my reward

Since tomorrow is the staff retreat, it’s almost like having a 3 day weekend. I am planning to try a few new bread recipes. My helpers are with their dad for the weekend, so it will not be quite as fun. Fortunately, I have a family picnic to attend. Nothing beats a family get together for unloading baked goods!

I finally got a chance to play with my new zills. Too bad my fingers are developmentally delayed! Someday I will get it figured out. Now that I have beautiful new zills there’s no way I can blame the sound on them.

Enjoyed visiting Lake City for a workshop with Tamalyn Dahlal. Not sure what brought her to a little mountain town in Colorado, but we were all glad she came.

Edward Burne-Jones

Last month I visited the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. I unknowingly stumbled into the largest public collection of Pre-Raphealite Art in the world. When I entered the room housing the Edward Burne-Jones collection I was stunned. I originally discovered the Pre-Raphealites as a freshman in college. I lost my appreciation for art somewhere between working on a degree and working on a family. Visiting the gallery in Birmingham reminded me of how good it feels to appreciate something just because it’s breathtaking. http://www.preraphaelites.org/
